About Us

Who We Are

TREGS Day Care and Educational Centre is an Ofsted registered nursery which provides high quality childcare for babies and young children from the age of 0-5 years. We also provide an afterschool club session which goes up to the age of 11.

Our aim is to encourage individual progress. To boost self-confidence and self-awareness, to provide a stimulating environment as well as promoting positive relationships. We believe that the Early Years are the building stones on our journey of curiosity.

We work like a family of educators and we welcome children and families to feel comfortable amongst us. We are all very passionate, caring, nurturing and very talented individual members of staff who bring the nursery to life.

What We Do

We pick children up from various nearby schools. We help the children with their homework along with other fun activities. Furthermore we have breakfast club which starts from 7:00AM. As we are open during school holidays, we also offer holiday club from ages 5-11 years. Our nursery is open throughout the whole year excluding Christmas, weekends, and public holidays. TREGS opens at 7:00AM and closes at 7:00PM. We are open for full twelve hours a day as we like to provide our children with high level of support and also be as flexible as possible for working and busy parents.

We also offer 15 hours government funded places for ages 2-3 years. Our nursery is located off Barking Road opposite Balaam Leisure Centre and it is approximately a 10-minute distance walk from Plaistow Station. Here at TREGS we like all the children to feel part of a family and to encourage this the children call all the staff members ‘auntie’. This creates a warm and welcoming environment where children feel at home and are able to feel comfortable in their surroundings during play.

We are proud to be working in partnership with St. Helen’s Catholic Primary School for children that attend school 30 hours a week. The children complete 15 hours at school and 15 hours at TREGS which makes it to 30 hours a week. We also take children that are 3 year olds that have government funded 30 hours. If you would like your child to have extra hours, additional prices will need to be discussed.

All of our meals are freshly prepared on site, we take all of the children’s dietary requirements into consideration for example, halal, vegan, no dairy etc. We also encourage healthy eating at our nursery and all staff have been trained for food and nutrition. We have three large outdoor areas which is separated for the babies, toddlers/pre-schools and the afterschool club. Our garden offers a range of opportunities including a large climbing frame with two slides and a swing, a climbing wall, trampoline, sandpit, a playhouse and other popular garden play equipment.

The Early Years Log

To monitor the children’s learning all our observations are recorded on the Early Years Log. eyLog offers a close integration between early year’s observations and EYFS assessments. The staff record their “observations” in what is known as a “learning journey” which is a collection of different documents prepared by the staff to provide a picture of a child’s development under various areas of learning such as Physical Development, Communication & Language, etc. We believe that using online learning journeys will allow both a rich body of evidence to support our partnership with parents and to help us plan for individual children’s development, and of course a wonderful keepsake for you to share with your child.
